C'è anche un po' di Italia ai ballottaggi preliminari del premio dedicato alla letteratura horror

Bram Stoker Awards 2020 Preliminary Ballot: Alessandro Manzetti, Stefano Cardoselli e Paolo Di Orazio tengono alto l’onore della letteratura italiana dell’orrore.
In un’annata, quella del 2020, che ricorderemo tutti per vari motivi non del tutto edificanti come la pandemia mondiale da Covid-19, una piccola buona notizia arriva direttamente da oltre oceano.
BRAM STOKER AWARDS 2020 PRELIMINARY BALLOT: COSA SONO?
Ma andiamo con ordine. I Preliminary Ballot non sono ancora le vere e proprie nomination, ma un passaggio intermedio dove gli iscritti alla Horror Writer Association dovranno votare da questa lista (che riportiamo completa in calce alla news) per decidere i finalisti. Le votazioni chiuderanno il 15 febbraio 2021 e solo allora sapremo i nominati.
ANCHE L’ITALIA AL PRELIMINARY BALLOT DEI BRAM STOKER AWARDS 2020
Ai preliminary ballot del prestigioso premio dedicato al mondo della letteratura horror in lingua inglese, il Bram Stoker Awards, sono arrivati anche tre autori italiani. Alessandro Manzetti, Stefano Cardoselli e Paolo Di Orazio sono i nostri autori che terranno alto l’onore del nostro paese e del nostro movimento.
Alessandro Manzetti è stato nominato per il Superior Achievement in a Poetry Collection (in pratica la categoria dedicata alla raccolta di poesie) con il libro Whitechapel Rhapsody: Dark Poems (Independent Legions Publishing) disponibile anche in italiano a questo link. L’autore italiano, inoltre, insieme all’illustratore Stefano Cardoselli, è stato inserito anche nella categoria dedicata ai Graphic Novel con l’opera Her Life Matters: (Or Brooklyn Frankenstein) (Independent Legions Publishing).
Paolo Di Orazio, dal canto suo, è stato inserito nella categoria per racconti con l’autopubblicato ebook The Man Who Fell Beyond the Wall.
Manzetti, lo ricordiamo, è stato l’unico italiano ad aver vinto per ben due volte la statuetta oltre ad aver ricevuto svariate nomination.
Sottolineiamo come anche un altro autore italiano è giunto al Preliminary Ballot sebbene con un racconto all’interno di un’antologia. Stiamo parlando di Luigi Musolino, un’altra delle migliori penne italiane in fatto di horror. La raccolta di racconti si intitola The Valancourt Book of world horror stories ed è stata inserita nelle categoria delle migliori antologie. e il racconto di Musolino è Uironda. Il racconto è stato pubblicato anche in italiano all’interno dell’antologia omonima da Kipple Officina Libraria che trovate qui.
